How It All Began...

In the 8th grade, I had dreams of becoming an engineer and loved exploring the inner workings of gadgets and gizmos. It was 1995, and while many kids wanted to 'be like Mike,' I proudly embraced my curiosity and passion for STEM.

During the dawn of the tech revolution, I saw the potential for the word 'geek' to take on an empowering new meaning. This inspired me to create a program called 'Be a Geek,' designed for kids like me who were proud to be curious and innovative.

Today, Be a Geek is creating a world where everyone has an equal opportunity to pursue their STEM dreams.

Why It Matters

Creating a More Just & Innovative Society

When everyone has access to STEM education and careers, we all benefit from diverse perspectives and new ideas. We work to break down the barriers that racially marginalized students face and provide them with the support and resources needed to succeed.

By doing so, we can ensure that everyone has the freedom and resources to pursue their passions and contribute to the advancement of science, technology, engineering, and math.
